Background

Condor Video was a division of Heron Communications for distributing Latin American Spanish-language movies, along with Spanish-subtitled versions of films in Heron's catalog at the time.

Logo (1980s)

Visuals: On a white background, a maroon upside-down triangle with a "C" zooms in as it spins rapidly clockwise. As it gets closer to the screen, the text "CONDOR VIDEO" swoops down and arches up with a pixelated trail effect, stopping above the triangle as that stops spinning. Later, a pair of lines fade above and below "CONDOR", sandwiching it together. Below then appears "A Division of Heron Communications, Inc." (along with "DISTRIBUTED BY VID-DIMENSION, INC." on some releases), then we fade out.

Technique: Early computer effects

Audio: Either a dramatic synthesized fanfare with a 2-note flourish, or a generic mariachi tune with sparkling noises when the text flies in.

Availability: Seen on a VHS release of House Of The Seven Graves. It may also be seen on Spanish-subtitled VHS releases of A Nightmare on Elm Street and Killer Klowns from Outer Space.
