Background

Crawford Productions was founded in 1945 by siblings Hector and Dorothy Crawford as a producer of drama, light entertainment and educational programs for radio. The company did not adopt a logo until the late 60s. In 1989, it was sold to WIN Corporation. The last program it produced was Guinevere Jones. Today, while the company is still in existence, it currently does not produce television shows, but concentrates on marketing DVD releases of it's popular programs.



1st Logo (January 30, 1968-1975)

Visuals: Superimposed into the intro or outro of the show, there are the letters "cp" in a larger font, with "A CRAWFORD" on the left and "PRODUCTION" to the right side of the logo.

Variant: On the show's intro, copyright info appears below the logo, and sometimes, the show's logo appears above.

Technique: None. [possible misuse]

Audio: The opening or closing theme of the show.

Availability: Appears on shows like Division 4, Matlock Police, The Box, Homicide and Ryan.

2nd Logo (September 12, 1974-1989)

Visuals: On a light blue background, there is a connected "cp" in the middle of the screen with "A CRAWFORD" to the left of it & "PRODUCTION" to the right. in the same alignment as the last logo Copyright information is also seen below the logo.

Variants:

  • An in-credit varaint exists, where it has "A CRAWFORD PRODUCTION" below the logo.
  • Another variant has "Crawford Productions, Int." above the logo, while "in association with" is seen below. This variation also lacks the copyright information.

3rd Logo (1989-2003)


Visuals: On a black background, a royal blue bar appears in the middle of the screen zooming out. As the bar zooms out to reveal a triangular edge, yellow dots fly into the bar, making holes, while three more stars (also in royal blue) rotate around the bar. As the stars circle to the front, one of the stars fuses with the bar and the edge retracts to reveal a section of the star stretching out. The star zooms out as "CRAWFORDS" rotates to the middle of the screen and a red line is wiped in on the lower edge of the extended portion of the star. "AUSTRALIA" appears below.

Variants:

  • An in-credit version with the URL exists.
  • A still version also exists, which appears on Guinevere Jones where it is 2-D and lighter.
  • On Halfway Across the Galaxy and Turn Left, the copyright notice reading "Copyright 1992 Crawford Productions Pty Ltd" fades in at the bottom of the screen after the logo forms.
