1st Logo (1997-2000s)

Logo: On a blue wood background with a DVD logo engraved into it, the ghostly text "DVD Encoding and Authoring By" is shown, along with the Crest National logo and an URL below.

Variants:

  • Sometimes, the text is different and the URL is removed.
  • Custom variants exist on some DVDs:
    • On the 1998 N.A. DVD of The Borrowers, it appeared on film shot.
    • On Mr. Saturday Night, it is on a light brown background.
    • On the 1998 DVD of Halloween, we instead see a shot from the film, with the logo over a pumpkin. Michael Myers can be seen from the window on the right, with his knife being visible in the kitchen.
    • On the 1999 DVD of Army of Darkness, the logo is at an angle, and Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell) is grabbing it.
    • On the 2000 DVD of Girls Just Want to Have Fun, "DVD" is in a larger font than the rest of the text. The background is also a shot from the film.
    • On the DVD of Bean: The Movie, it is on a yellow background with Mr. Bean.
    • On the 2000 DVD of Santa Claus: The Movie, the logo is over a shot of Santa (Dudley Moore)'s workshop.
    • On the 1999 DVD of Bad Lieutenant, it appeared as a carving on a jail cell wall.
    • On the 1999 DVD of Permanent Midnight, the background is a stone carving of the logo.
