Background

Cuppa Coffee Studios is a Canadian animation studio company based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada founded in 1992 by Adam Shaheen and Bruce Alcock.

1st Logo (February 1, 1999-April 1, 2000)

Logo: On a black background, we see a yellow crudely-drawn cup sitting on a saucer, with four orange lines emanating from the top. Next to it we see the words "CUPPA COFFEE" in orange, with "ANIMATION" below in a small orange-outlined oval.

Variants:

  • On the 1999 TV special Snowden's Christmas, the cup and saucer are now in a yellow outline, and cast a shadow. "CUPPA COFFEE" is in white and stacked below the cup, and "ANIMATION" is black in a yellow oval.
  • On the 1999 pilot for Super Why, the variant from Snowden's Christmas is in black-and-white over a yellow background.

Technique: None.

Music/Sounds: The ending theme of the show.

Availability: Rare. Seen on the short-lived HBO series Crashbox. The logo is retained on the current HBO Family airings of the show, in addition to streaming services such as Crave in Canada. Also seen on Snowden's Christmas and the 1999 Super Why pilot.

2nd Logo (August 24, 2002-November 8, 2009)

Logo: On a blue background, an orange cup and saucer pops up. Then the words "CUPPA COFFEE" appear with "ANIMATION", "STUDIOS" or neither below. 4 black lines appear above the cup similar to the first logo.

Variants:

  • On Tigga and Togga, copyright information is below the logo instead of the company name.
  • On Bruno, the logo appears small and in-credit below the logo for the show.

Technique: 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: A "Woo-hoo!" sound and a brief banjo tune, followed by a kid laughing. Bruno has a loud brass sound playing over the logo.

Availability: Rare. It was seen on Henry's World, Tigga and Togga, JoJo's Circus, and A Very Barry Christmas. The Bruno variant was last seen on TV when it reran on Noggin in the mid-2000's.

3rd Logo (August 17, 2009-November 7, 2011)

Logo: Similar to the last logo, but the white words "CUPPA COFFEE STUDIOS" appear one-by-one. "CUPPA" is large and white, while "COFFEE" is smaller beside it, and "STUDIOS" is above.

Technique: 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: A pouring sound or the closing theme.

Availability: Seen on Glenn Martin, DDS and the first half of season 1 of Ugly Americans.

4th Logo (October 6-November 17, 2010)

Logo: On a beige background, we see a same cup and saucer with the words underneath, "CUPPA COFFEE STUDIOS," but with a more handdrawn version of the second logo's font. The coffee is poured to the top of the cup throughout. Everything squiggles (ala the Tom Snyder Productions logo).

Technique: 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: Same as before.

Availability: Seen on the last half of season 1 of Ugly Americans.
