Background

The Curriculum Development Institute Of Singapore is an institute of the Ministry of Education of Singapore, formed in 1973 to help distribute educational AV materials. It also replaced the Singapore Education Television Service, the former educational television service formed in 1967.

Logo (August 1973-2000s?)

Visuals:

1973-1980s: On a white background, a black square is seen in the center of the screen. Inside of the square, a abstract, conjoined "Ci" is seen along with a dot in the center, which combined with the negative space, creates a "d", forming "Cdi". The company name does not appear.
1980s-2000s?: On a sky blue background, a white dot takes up the entire screen before it choppily zooms back in sync with the music. Then, 2 thick lines, one orange coming from just a bit off center-top and one coming from above center-right, draw in and around the dot to form up part of the CDIS logo. As the lines retract from their sources, the logo moves up a bit and zooms back, and when the lines fully retract, a orange box appears around the logo as the text "CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTE OF SINGAPORE" appears below in white.

Variants:

1973-1980s:
- A version in color possibly exists, with a red square instead of a black one.
1980s-2000s?:
- An closing variant has the box surrounded by a white outline, with the name in lowercase and "MINISTRY OF EDUCATION" below it. Everything is in Gill Sans.
- The company name may be translated to Malay, Chinese, or Tamil depending on the program.

Technique: A still card for the early version, computer animation for the later version.

Audio:

1973-1980s: Classical orchestral music plays throughout, which varies by program. An female announcer says "The Curriculum Development Institute Of Singapore presents." either in English, Malay, Mandarin, or possibly Tamil.
1980s-2000s?: A Moog synthesizer fanfare repeated 3 times: the 2nd time is a octave lower, and the 3rd time extends it. It ends on a held note.

Availability: Seen on many Singaporean educational programs and videos from the time period. It debuted on Maths - Another Look: Angles.
