Background

This is the vanity plate of Karey Burke and Todd Holland (who previously founded Walking Bud Productions).

(September 14, 2011-April 11, 2013)

Logo: On a black background, a series of letters type themselves in from the top-down a la The Matrix. When finished, the letters spell "darktoykareytodd" (referring to Karey Burke and Todd Holland) in a series of horizontal lines. In the process, the center copies of "kareytodd" (center-top left) and "darktoy" (center-bottom right) glow and light up, as three squares, colored in red, blue and green, and respectively containing a letter spelling the text "TOY", pop in, as "DARK" wipes in above and "ENTERTAINMENT" appears below letter-by-letter. The background words fade out, leaving an entirely black background.

Variants:

  • Sometimes, it shares the screen with other logos.
  • A version exists where the logo slowly zooms out (including the background).

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Music/Sounds: Fast-paced digital typing, ending with a digital "beep" mixed with a squeak.

Music/Sounds Variants:

  • Sometimes, a different theme is heard. We hear a sizzling-like static sound, ending with an ominous synth note mixed with a springing sound.
  • NBC airings use a generic theme and voiceover.

Availability: Seen on the USA version of Free Agents, Go On and the failed pilot of Isabel.
