Logo: We see a live-action closeup of two tubular bells ringing. The camera pans from one bell to another, to the left. The words "DEAR" and "FILM" then zoom up from the bell to the center. "presenta" then zooms up below.
Technique: Live-action and cel animation.
Music/Sounds: The sound of the bells.
Music/Sounds Variant: The pitch was noticably higher on I tre ladri.
Availability: Appears on distributed 35mm films across Italy. Was spotted on Era lui, sì, sì!, Umberto D., Buongiorno, elefante!, and I tre ladri.
2nd Logo (20 December 1952-1958)
Logo: An in-credit logo where we see a tilted bell with "DEAR FILM" in a stacked format plastered onto a bell inside of a white ring.
Variants:
- "presenta" may also show up on the bottom, either in capital or lowercase.
- On Puccini, the logo is black.
Technique: Mainly cel animation.
Music/Sounds: The opening/closing score, or none.
Availability: Used in tandem with the previous logo. Was spotted on an Italian print of Limelight, Puccini, Ti ho sempre amato!, and Perdonami!, Gli amori di Manon Lescaut, Pietà per chi cade, and an Italian trailer The Gun Runners.
