Background
Discotek Media is a home video distribution company that releases anime, live-action films, and TV series on DVD. They are well known for their distribution of obscure cult classic productions that would otherwise not get a re-release.
1st Logo (2006-2008)
Visuals: On a white background, the screen fades in to see a girl in a hip fashion holding a spray in a disco pose. Then, the text "DISCOTEK", in red in a graffiti-like font, wipes in the left. Finally it fades out.
Technique: 2D computer animation.
Audio: A techno theme that's supposed to resemble some disco beat. A man says "Rock The Discotek!" in sync with the beats.
Availability: It appeared on their release of Puss in Boots, one of Hayao Miyazaki's early films. It can also be seen on distributed anime releases, most notably Lupin III.
2nd Logo (2013-)
Visuals: On a black background, there is the text "DISCOTEK" in a graffiti-like font, on the bottom was the text 'MEDIA" in a small font.
Variant: On a promo reel for upcoming and recent releases, there is a stone-like background to the logo as it zooms in slowly.
Technique: A still digital graphic.
Audio: None.
Availability: It was first seen on their release of Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie, and then on later releases.
