Background
Discotek Media is a home video distribution company that releases anime, live-action films, and TV series on DVD. They are well known for their distribution of obscure cult classic productions that would otherwise not get a re-release.
1st Logo (2006-2008)
Nickname: "The Discotek Girl"
Logo: TBA.
FX/SFX: TBA.
Music/Sounds: A techno theme that's supposed to resemble some disco beat. A man says "Rock The Discotek!" in synch with the beats.
Availability: Rare. It appeared on their release of Puss in Boots, one of Hayao Miyazaki's early films. It can also be seen on distributed anime releases, most notably Lupin III.
Editor's Note: The animation is poorly designed and bland, not to mention the music is conducted poorly. Old-school anime fans like this logo, however.
2nd Logo (2013- )
Nickname: "Simple Discotek"
Logo: TBA.
FX/SFX: None.
Music/Sounds: None.
Availability: Current. It was first seen on their release of Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie, and then on later releases.
Editor's Note: The logo looks tacky and poorly chyroned in, but again this is a liked logo for oldschool anime fans.
