In December 1995, Bruckheimer dissolved his partnership with Simpson due to the latter's worsening drug addiction, and formed a new company later known as [[Jerry Bruckheimer Films]]; Simpson died from drug-related heart failure in January 1996. In 2003, the "Don Simpson/Jerry Bruckheimer" name was revived by Bruckheimer for the release of ''Bad Boys II'' out of respect for Simpson, and continues to be used for sequels to films that were originally produced with Simpson's involvement. |

Visuals: The logo starts with sky blue clouds moving across the screen. Two bolts of lightning then strike and converge at the bottom as the clouds instantly turn orange. The screen zooms out into a box on a black background, as the orange text "DON SIMPSON/JERRY BRUCKHEIMER" (in a modified version of the Michelangelo font) appears below it, with the spaced-out text "FILMS" (in the same font) underneath it.
Trivia: This logo was designed by Tim Girvin, who has stated that the twin lightning bolts represent Simpson and Bruckheimer's "visionary alliance". A blog post about Girvin's involvement with this logo can be found here.
Variants:
Technique: Live-action footage mixed with 2D animation.
Audio: The sounds of lightning crackling, usually played alongside the opening theme of the movie.
