@Dance (2002-2013)

ID: On a blue CBeebies background, 2 yellow bugs dance around with each other and eventually hit each other. Then the background turns pink and then the logo appears above with the BBC logo fading in as the 2 bugs continue to dance.

FX/SFX: CGI animation from Lambie-Nairn.

Music/Sounds: Cheerful sounding music with a voice saying "CBeebies, CBeebies!" and a kid giggling (a stock sound effect nicknamed the "Diddy laugh") in the middle.

Availability: Extinct.

Editor's Note: Like the rest of CBeebies' idents, this is cute and very kid-friendly.

Shapes (2002-2017)

ID: On an orange CBeebies background, we see the CBeebies logo (with the letters more spaced out). Then the BBC logo fades out and the CBeebies wordmark turns into 3 bugs, which become a circle, a square and a triangle. Then one of the shapes zooms in and we head into a continuity link or a plain coloured background.

FX/SFX: Same as above.

Music/Sounds: Different sounding music, once again sounding cheerful, with the bugs making noise.

Availability: Extinct.

Editor's Note: Same as "Dance".

Balance (2002-2013)

ID: Various bugs balance on top of each other on a blue CBeebies background. The one on the very top balances the CBeebies logo by rocking it around.

Variant: A shortened version exists, which only features the part with the bug balancing the logo.

FX/SFX: Same as above.

Music/Sounds: Chime sounds and the bugs making noises.

Availability: Extinct.

Editor's Note: Same as "Dance".

Multiply (2002-2017)

ID: On a green CBeebies background, one bug appears, until another one appears, then more of the bugs do the same thing, until they cover the background. Then they come out and the CBeebies logo is seen with the BBC logo fading in. Bugs appear randomly on the screen.

FX/SFX: Same as "Dance".

Music/Sounds: Gentle sounding music, akin to other CBeebies idents and the bugs making noises.

Availability: Extinct.

Editor's Note: Same as above. The bugs that "randomly" appear don't have a good disappear animation, leaving 1-4 frames out. This is pretty obvious it was done by a green screen

Snowman (2002-2005)

ID: On a snowy light blue CBeebies background, 3 bugs form a snowman (the top with the eyes, and the others forming buttons for the snowman). Then they get hit by snowballs and dissolve by jumping to the camera, to become the CBeebies logo, as snow falls on top of it and covers it.

FX/SFX: Same as above.

Music/Sounds: Same music as "Dance", but with bug noises.

Availability: Extinct. It was used as a Christmas ident from 2002 to 2005.

Editor's Note: Same as above.

Christmas Tree (2002-2005, 2007)

ID: On a starry red CBeebies background, 3 bugs bounce around, but a bug jumps on one of the bug's head. Then, the bug stretches itself and turns into a Christmas Tree, causing a cel-shading effect to occur. It soon returns to normal as they jump to the camera, to become the CBeebies logo like with the previous ident.

FX/SFX: Same as above.

Music/Sounds: Chime sounds and the bugs making noises.

Availability: Same as above. This was also used as the intro to the DVD CBeebies: The Ultimate Christmas Collection.

Editor's Note: Same as above.

Bedtime Hour (2003-2017, 2021)

ID: On a purple/dark blue night-time CBeebies background with stars, we see a moon on the bottom right with three bugs sleeping on it. The CBeebies logo is seen on top. Then, a shooting star appears from the right to the middle as the logo for the "Bedtime Hour" (in the usual CBeebies font) fade in.

Variants:

  • An extended version exists. This version begins with a close-up of only one bug on the moon, and then two more jump onto it and fall asleep. One comes close to the camera and back as the moon moves to the bottom right and the rest of the ident plays like above.
    • On the DVD CBeebies: Bedtime, when the bug comes close to the camera and out, it comes out of the DVD menu instead.
  • A shorter version exists.

FX/SFX: Same as above.

Music/Sounds: Calm-sounding music and the bugs snoring.

Music/Sounds Variants:

  • The extended version uses the same music and then a synth sounder when the Bedtime Hour text appears. You can also hear the bugs making noise and yawning sounds.
  • On CBeebies Bedtime Stories until a proper ident was made for this strand, a different tune plays.

Availability: Same as above. It was used for CBeebies' Bedtime Hour strand up until 2016, where specially-made CBeebies House idents were made to replace it. It was also used as the intro to the DVD CBeebies: Bedtime.

Editor's Note: This has been the longest-serving ident ever used on CBeebies, used for over 14 years and by then, was the 2nd ident for the channel produced by Lambie-Nairn to still be in use at the time.

Animals (2006-2017)

ID: On a light blue CBeebies background, various bugs form animals like a pig, an elephant, a cow and a chicken. Some of the bugs splodge together into the CBeebies logo which appears on the top, while 3 remain on the bottom.

FX/SFX: Same as above.

Music/Sounds: Bug sounds and animal sounds.

Availability: Extinct.

Editor's Note: Same as before.

Dance Lights (2006-present)

ID: On a pink CBeebies background, three bugs make sounds using the background drawings, which then glow when they hit them. Eventually, they make the usual CBeebies tune as the logo appears letter by letter.

FX/SFX: Same as above.

Music/Sounds: Different sounds are produced by the bugs, ending with a version of the CBeebies jingle, and sometimes ending with a low-pitched boom.

Availability: Some people say this is still extinct, while actually, it isn't. It normally appears around the 6am hour, but usually isn't their own ident; its normally used as a Day Of The Week ident. The time that this ident appears can be rarely 7am or 8am. It's normally seen the following shows that are currently airing since this was wrote:

Chuggington, Timmy Time, Octonauts, it dosen't really matter.

Editor's Note: The low-pitch horn could startle viewers in the alternative ident.

Paint (2006-2017)

ID: On a light blue CBeebies background, paint appears all over the background and eventually hitting some bugs which appear in this ident. The paint then slides away to reveal the CBeebies logo, while the bugs are still covered in paint.

Variant: When the ident originally debuted, purple text saying "Happy Holi" appeared before the ident started.

FX/SFX: Same as above.

Music/Sounds: CBeebies-esque music, bug sounds... the usual.

Availability: Extinct. It originally debuted as an ident for Holi, but later became part of the main roster of idents.

Editor's Note: Same as before.

Flower (2006-2017)

ID: On a green CBeebies background, we see an orange flower. Then a bug pops out of it, which then reveals to be a whole screen of flowers with bugs popping out of them. The CBeebies logo appears above.

FX/SFX: Same as above.

Music/Sounds: The bugs popping out of the flowers and the usual "CBeebies! CBeebies" soundbyte.

Availability: Extinct. It used to be shown whenever you watched a CBeebies program on BBC iPlayer until 2014. It was also used as the intro to the DVD CBeebies: The Ultimate Summer Collection.

Editor's Note: Same as before.

Share the Magic (2006-2009)

ID: On a dark blue CBeebies background with hills, a yellow bug pops up with a star on its head. Then, a bug slides down and hits the one with the star, representing they are sharing their stars. Then, a third one appears and does the same thing. The one that slid down then slides down the hilly side again alongside a few other bugs with stars on them to the CBeebies logo. Pictures of stars and Christmas trees surround the logo as one of the bugs slides down with the star heading into a contunity link or a coloured background.

FX/SFX: Same as above.

Music/Sounds: Christmassy music, sometimes with a child saying "CBeebies, Share the Magic!" at the end.

Availability: Extinct. Used as a Christmas ident from 2006-2009.

Editor's Note: Same as before.

Balloon Bobbing (2010-2016)

ID: On a green dotted background, we see some CBeebies personalities hitting a balloon shaped like the CBeebies logo. Eventually, they throw it close which causes the camera to tilt in a dutch-angle effect. The balloon puts itself in the right way up as the BBC logo in white appears below and the personalities laugh.

FX/SFX: It's all live-action, while the balloon is CGI.

Music/Sounds: Drum sounds for the bobbing, the personalities laughing and saying "Ahh" or "Aww", then it ends with the "CBeebies! CBeebies!" soundbyte.

Availability: Extinct.

Editor's Note: Same as before.

Balloon Inflating (2010-2016)

ID: On a purple dotted background, we see Nina (Katrina Bryan) from Nina and the Neurons and then-CBeebies presenter Sidney Slone next to the same CBeebies logo shaped-balloon as seen in the previous ident. Sid is blowing it up with a pumper. Then, Mr. Tumble (Justin Fletcher) from Something Special appears and Sid allows him to continue on pumping the balloon. He does a hard bump, which fully inflates the balloon and knocks Nina away. She reappears by running backwards embracing the balloon as the BBC logo in white fades below.

FX/SFX: Once again, live-action and CGI.

Music/Sounds: Tooting sounds for the balloon inflating, alongside some miming sounds from the personalities featured. Once the balloon blows, the "CBeebies! CBeebies!" sound-byte is heard.

Availability: Extinct.

Editor's Note: Same as before.

Balloon Growing (2010-2016)

ID: On a light blue dotted background, we see Mister Maker (Phil Gallagher) from his titular show and CBeebies presenter Katy Ashworth (in her costume from I Can Cook) growing the same CBeebies logo shaped balloon as before like it is a flower. Mister Maker starts first, which grows the right half of the balloon, and then Katy grows the other half. Fellow CBeebies presenter Andy Day then appears, and the three of them all use their watering cans at the same time to make the balloon massive. The BBC logo in white then fades below.

FX/SFX: Same as before.

Music/Sounds: Sound effects for the balloon, and some laughter and "Woahs" from the personalities. It once again ends with the "CBeebies! CBeebies!" soundbyte.

Availability: Extinct.
