Background

CFCN-TV is a CTV Television Network affiliate, located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

1st Logo (1982-1988)

2nd Logo (1992-1998)

Logo: On a violet background, we zoom out and slightly pan up to see a blue square with a golden, stylized "5" with a red circle, a blue square and a green triangle on its top-right and the golden text "CFCN" inside of the 5.

Variants:

  • Starting in 1995, the CFCN-TV logo had a 3 instead of 5.
  • As for the sign-off and sign-on variant, we see a purple background against to 3 CFCN-TV text then zooms then the text fading in PROGRAM DIRECTOR CHANNEL 3 BOX 7060 POSTAL CODE STN. E CALGARY ALBERTA T3C 3L9 already the progress

Technique: Entirely done in CGI.

Music/Sounds:: A guitar tune. A male announcer is also heard saying "This is Channel 5, serving southern Alberta."

Availability: Extinct.


3rd logo (1997)

Bumper: On a blue background, we see the previous Channel 3 logo animating differently.

Technique: Nice animation.

Music/Sounds: A jazz tune.

Availability: Used briefly during 1997.


4th ID (1998-1999)

Bumper: Unknown

Technique: Unknown

Music/Sounds: An announcer saying "This is CFCN-TV Calgary. A part of CTV Television Network".

Availability: Unknown


5th logo (2002-2005)


Logo: On a sunrise background, we see the text "CFCN" and the CTV logo underneath as it spins around on its z-axis. The background changes to various parts of Calgary such as a skyline.

FX/SX: The logo rotating, done in CGI.

Music/Sounds: A peaceful and majestic soundtrack accompanied with an announcer saying "Good morning, welcome to a full day of broadcasting on CFCN Television".

Availability: Extinct. Was seen as a sign-on for the channel during this time.
