Background

JOGM-DTV is the callsign of Hiroshima Home Television Co., Ltd. (HOME, 広島ホームテレビ), the All-Nippon News Network affiliate for Hiroshima Prefecture. It made a license request on September 18, 1964 under the name of Setonaikai Broadcasting (unrelated to the current one in Kagawa Prefecture). Its license was eventually granted on November 18, 1969 and the name Hiroshima Home Television was selected on December 25, 1969. Test broadcasts started on October 1, 1970 and full-time service started on December 1, 1970 at 6:50 AM. Its abbreviation until March 1986 was UHT (UHF Hiroshima-Home Television).

  • Startup: This ident starts with a close-up of the Atomic Bomb Dome at sunrise, which zooms out to reveal the full monument. It then cuts to footage of pigeons flying in the sky. It then cuts into another sky background which zooms into the TV station's headquarters. The day of the week and date are then displayed, before it is replaced with the same UHT and "広島ホームテレビ" text from earlier in the opening.
  • Closedown: On a blue background, there is an illustration of the company's headquarters with several yellow stars in the sky, with "35" in a red box on the bottom-right corner next to "ホームテレビ" in the same font as the opening.
