Background
Kanal D is a Turkish nationwide television channel part of the Demiroren Group, first launched on 20 September 1993. It begun broadcasting in HD on October 2006, making it the first channel in Turkey to do so.
The station had also launched an international channel, Euro D (formerly Kanal D Fun) in 1996, as well as a Romanian channel under the same name in 2007.
