Background

Keumyoung Group (금영엔터테인먼트), originally known as Kumyoung, is a South Korean company largely oriented around karaoke and computer audio machine (noraebang) products. Initially formed as an arcade machine manufacturer in 1983 under Namkyoung Industry, the company transitioned into karaoke machines in 1989 eventually becoming regional leaders of the music player industry.

1st Logo (1990s-2000s)

Visuals: Unknown

Technique: A still, computerized graphic.

Audio: A mellow theme with drums and synthesizers at the start, followed by a 4-note theme with female vocals singing the company name, then the male announcer "Kumyoung" is heard.

Audio Variants: In some cases a news-style MIDI fanfare is heard.

Availability: Seen on several older Kumyoung machines from the late 1990s to early 2000s.

2nd Logo (2000s)


Visuals: A yellow light shines in over a black background, while the transparent letters "KY" shoot and spin out into the center as the light spreads out. The "KY" shines and darkens as the light also dims, leaving the border, while the inside turns red and the text "Kumyoung" in gray 3D letters spreads out and spins into view. The background turns white, before the logo fades out completely.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Three synthesized brass notes with whooshing sounds when the letters appear.
