1989-????

Visuals: Against a dark marble background, the MLB logo appears from the right side of the screen, settling atop a green beveled square with a gold outline. A silver square with "MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL" in a red sans serif font and "HOME VIDEO" in a blue serif font, both with a white drop shadow, fades in surrounding the MLB logo, and the entire silver square moves to face the camera before zooming in as the screen fades to white.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A brass fanfare followed by one of the following voiceovers taken from actual color commentary from past MLB games:

  • "The 1-0 delivery to Fisk, he swings... long drive, left field! If it stays fair, it's gone... HOME RUN! THE RED SOX WIN! And the series is tied 3 games apiece!" - Ned Martin, Cincinnati Reds at Boston Red Sox, October 21, 1975
  • "Swung on, belted! It's a long one, deep into left center! Back goes Gionfriddo, back, back, back, back, back, back... HE MAKES A ONE-HANDED CATCH AGAINST THE BULLPEN! Whoa, oh, doctor!" - Red Barber, Brooklyn Dodgers at New York Yankees, October 5, 1947

Availability: Seen on many official Major League Baseball videocassettes released in the '90s. The Fisk home run voiceover appears on Baseball's Greatest Moments, while the Gionfriddo play voiceover appears on This Week in Baseball's Greatest Plays and Baseball's Funniest Bloopers.
