===Background===
The '''Mattel Hyperscan''' was a video game console released by [[Mattel Electronics]] on October 23, 2006, being their first console since the [[Intellivision]] in 1979. The system notably had a 13.56 MHz RFID scanner that would read individual cards that came with each game or were sold separately. The cards were used in order to save data, select characters and other functions. The console soon proved to be a commercial failure and was heavily panned by critics for its clunky design, poor controls, long loading times, and unnecessary usage of cards. As a result, the console was discontinued after less than a year in 2007 with only 10,000 units being sold and only 5 games being made (along with 2 being canceled).

Background

The Mattel Hyperscan was a video game console released by Mattel Electronics on October 23, 2006, being their first console since the Intellivision in 1979.

Logo (October 23, 2006-2007)

Visuals: On a dark red wireframe background, there is a red radar-like circle. Beside, there are the glowing white words:

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: A looping synth drone, in sync with the flashing radar. It will decide when to stop when a CD is inserted.

Audio Variant: Unknown

Availability: Seen when the Hyperscan is turned on. The variant can be seen on all of the HyperScan games.
