Background

NPO 2 (formerly Nederland 2) is a Dutch television channel launched in 1964.

1st Logo (1970s-1984)

Logo: On a red background, we see the word "Nederland 2", with the "2" being 3D.

2nd Logo (1984-1988)

Logo: On a black background, we see a messed up test screen. The word "NEDERLAND" is inside the 1st red bar and the number "2" is outside the test screen.

3rd Logo (1988-1990)

Logo: On a red & blue grid background, we see a giant "2" and the AVRO, TROS, and Veronica logos. We go inside the "2" and then a picture of the "2" appears. The picture flips to form the AVRO, TROS, and Veronica logos.

Technique: CGI.

Music/Sounds: A horn fanfare with an announcer saying "Dit is Nederland 2, ATV" ("This is Nederland 2, ATV").

4th Logo (1990)

Logo: On a black background, we see spotlights and the word "TV2".

5th Logo (1990-1994)

Logo: On a black background, we see a cube. The lines and random shapes then appear to form an abstract "TV2".

Logo: Depends, but features something forming a swirly "2".

Logo: Depends, but the screen is split in half with different footage. Something will move from the left screen and turn into something else in the right screen.

Variant: There is a generic variant where on an orange background, we see a yellow diamond with a "2" in it and the words "Nederland Twee" appearing.

Music/Sounds: A synthesized fanfare.

9th Logo (2006-2007)

Logo: We see a place somewhere in the Netherlands. The camera then moves to form a glass version of the same logo from before without text.

Logo: We see the Nederland 2 logo reflected in various places.

Logo: In a random room we see a box full of random images. The text "Een wereld op" ("A world of" in Dutch) appears and the box forms the Nederland 2 logo.

Variant: In 2014, the ident was updated to feature the new NPO 2 logo.
