Rai Uno

1st Logo (1983-1985)

Nicknames: "The Ball", "Grid Ball"

Logo: On a black background, a blue ball flies in as an even bigger ball, but more sky blue and having sections cut out, flies into view. The ball then enters the bigger ball, revealing a yellow inside as the ball zooms away. A TV tube shape flips into view, with a black background and a white stripe, and the 1983-2000 logo flips in, which is the "RAI" text in blue and "UNO" in sky blue. The tube then fills the background and the ball fully disappears as the logo zooms out onto a blue gradient background and a sphere in the corner. A shadow slides out and the logo shines.

Variants: A short version was later introduced later in its lifespan, where it first showed the ball outside of the planet before fading to it entering the TV tube. The theme is the last few seconds. An abridged version has the text zooming out as the background gains a white stripe. This has the last three notes from the Rai logo at the time.

FX/SFX: The balls and screen moving, the text zooming in. Early CGI that looks quite dated.
