'Background': Star TV formed in 1989 as Turkey's first private nationwide channel. The channel's currently owned by the Dogus Media Group since 2011. Before renaming to Star TV the station has been referred to as Star Magic Box during 1989-1992 and InterStar during 1992-2002.
