WCVB-TV, virtual channel 5 (UHF digital channel 33), is an ABC-affiliated television station licensed to Boston, Massachusetts, United States. The station is owned by the Hearst Television subsidiary of New York City-based Hearst Communications.
1st ID (1972)
ID: On a black background, we see a circular arrow resembling a stylized number 5 (the channel's number, circled by the rainbow-colored words "WCVB-TV" above and "BOSTON" below. It then fades into several of these "5"s in different colors bunched up together. A montage showing WCVB workers than plays out.
Technique: Crossfading.
Music/Sounds: An announcer says "This is WCVB-TV, the new channel 5!", followed by funk music.
Availability: Used as a sign-on ident around the time.

ID: ABC's "Let Us Be the One!" ID. There's a byline with "WCVB-tv" on the left, the station's logo in the middle, and "Boston" on the right.
