:I can tell you for sure that there's no way the old lady is Lauren Bacall. Bacall would have been in her mid-60s when these idents were made. The old lady in the video looks way older than that. The other ident said to be Lynne Thigpen might well be accurate, there's definitely a resemblance there. Can't speak for the rest [[User:Hb1290|Hb1290]] ([[User talk:Hb1290|talk]]) 12:09, 3 August 2021 (UTC)

The old lady in the video looks way older than that and doesn't look anything like Bacall. Also if that's Steve Burns as in ''Blues Clues'' Steve Burns, then no. Definitely not. Looks nothing like him. The other one said to be Lynne Thigpen might well be accurate, there's definitely a resemblance there. Can't speak for the rest as I don't really know who they are. == Regarding the voiceovers ==

I've noticed recently that the credit for the voiceover on the 1996 and 1998 logos has been changed from Lauren Bacall to Mike Pengra. I assume because [https://washingtoncitypaper.com/article/287039/guided-by-voices/ this article] from mid-1996 says he does the "This is PBS" voiceover in... something, the article doesn't specify.

The thing is, Mike Pengra has a [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J02dQ-FBFJw deep, obviously male voice] and doesn't sound ANYTHING like the voiceover on the '96 and '98 logos, which, while pretty deep/husky, is still pretty obviously feminine in tone. And that's even assuming that the Mike Pengra who works today at Minnesota Public Radio is the same Mike Pengra who did voiceover work in the '90s, I kind of wonder if they're two different people who share the same name.

My assumption is that he did the 1989 logo, since the voice tones kinda sound similar. I was also kinda thinking the 1992 logo, but I found an article [https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/lifestyle/1992/12/31/the-tv-column/c3462d61-1e3c-4a1f-bba5-8b9a326a50e3/ confirming] Chris Murney did the voice in that. Special Idents

The special idents can now be found at Public Broadcasting Service/Special Idents. I moved them because this page was just getting too long. Hb1290 (talk) 02:12, 1 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Where do they belong?

Do the IDs on this link (companybumpers.wikifoundry.com/page/Public+Broadcasting+Service+IDs) go on the main page or the "Special Idents" one? --DisneyInternationalFan (talk) 18:27, 24 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

I think they belong with the regular idents. Hb1290 (talk) 22:11, 24 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

The And On Variant is a Myth

Logo myths aren't allowed here. I can definitely tell by the availability of the variant. It could be readded if proven real. Please let me know of prove of this variant being proven real. Until then, it shouldn't be allowed on the page. BaldiBasicsFan (talk) 00:49, 9 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

9th logo actors

Are these the official actors, and if so, is there any evidence towards it? Geodesi (talk) 05:25, 3 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

I can tell you for sure that there's no way the old lady is Lauren Bacall. Bacall would have been in her mid-60s when these idents were made. The old lady in the video looks way older than that and doesn't look anything like Bacall. Also if that's Steve Burns as in Blues Clues Steve Burns, then no. Definitely not. Looks nothing like him. The other one said to be Lynne Thigpen might well be accurate, there's definitely a resemblance there. Can't speak for the rest as I don't really know who they are. Regarding the voiceovers

I've noticed recently that the credit for the voiceover on the 1996 and 1998 logos has been changed from Lauren Bacall to Mike Pengra. I assume because this article from mid-1996 says he does the "This is PBS" voiceover in... something, the article doesn't specify.

The thing is, Mike Pengra has a deep, obviously male voice and doesn't sound ANYTHING like the voiceover on the '96 and '98 logos, which, while pretty deep/husky, is still pretty obviously feminine in tone.

I was also kinda thinking the 1992 logo, but I found an article confirming Chris Murney did the voice in that. CooleyBoy10 (talk) 21:49, 24 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
