(1949-1952) Drug Store Television Productions (1951)Drug Store Television Productions

Nicknames: "Boring Text","The Drug Store Logo", "This ain't no Drug Store!"

Logo: Opening:On a black background, we see the words appearing: DRUG STORE TELEVISION PRODUCTIONS Present

Afterwards, the logo transitions quickly into the "Cavalcade of Stars" title card.

Closing:On a gray background, we see the words appearing:

this program has been brought to you through the courtesy of: DRUG STORE TELEVISION PRODUCTIONS

Another cut of the entire logo then appears.

FX/SFX: The appearanceof the logo/none.

Music/Sounds: Opening:The opening theme of the show. Shortly before we have the quick transition, we hear people singing "Presenting the Cavalcade of Stars!". Closing: The closing theme of the show. When the logo cuts, the DuMont announcer would appear.

Availability: Extremely rare. Seen only on Cavalcade of Stars, starring Jackie Gleason and aired on the DuMont Television Network. It is said that a couple dozen episodes survive for this show.

Editor's Note:The closing version is one of the longest TV logos ever, since it lasts about 35 seconds. But, seriously, the lack of animation on the logo just doesn't justify its length. Although this is a primitive logo for the television era, you wouldn't expect that much of animation, but we guess people in that time would be bored after 10 seconds and start to think of making this logo end at an even shorter time.
