Background

Freestyle was a very short-lived division of EA Sports, which would have focused on casual/arcade-type casual sports titles, a la the extreme sports line EA Sports BIG. Only three games were released under the Freestyle banner before it was quietly retired.

1st (and only) Logo (2008-2009)

Logo: On a blue background, the EA HD logo takes place. After done, EA moves a bit right and is rounded with a glowing circle. Everything other clears, but SPORTS appears below inside the circle. The EA Sports logo immediately explodes into the solid white circle with blue edges and letters, which glows and rotates. It bumps the screen and zooms into the lower part of the screen. freestyle comes, each letter connected with the circle. The EA byline is very small below the logo.

Variants:

  • On FaceBreaker, after the logo is complete, a sports gimp comes and blows the logo to ashes.
  • On 3 on 3 NHL Arcade, the background is orange, and the EA HD animation is cut out.

FX/SFX: The EA HD logo appearing, the EA Sports circle flipping, the "freestyle" logo appearing.

Music/Sounds: Several whirling sounds.

Availability: Appears on FaceBreaker for Xbox 360 and PS3, FaceBreaker K.O. Party on Wii, and on 3 on 3 NHL Arcade. The latter game has since been delisted from the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live stores, but it is available as a demo on the PS3 versions of NHL 11 and NHL 12, so it may still be on there.

Editor's Note: None.
