Background
Eidos Video Technologies was founded in 1990 as a video compression company, developing the RPL video format, which was later massively used in the company's games. In 1995, Eidos took over Domark Group, Big Red Games, and Simis Group, merging them into Eidos Interactive. The Domark name was still used for one year after the demise.
