Background
Elite Entertainment was an entertainment company, mainly for releasing special editions of various films on LaserDisc and DVD. It was started by Jack F. Murphy.
1st Logo (1994-July 10, 1997)
Visuals: On a grey-scale background there is the text, "Elite Entertainment", both in Mistral, seen in a blue rectangle.
Variants:
- The beginning of the Night of the Living Dead Laserdisc and DVD show the first few seconds of the intro of said film in poor quality (to trick the viewer into thinking that they bought a low quality copy of the film, which is common due to its public domain status). After that, the screen explodes into pieces, flying away, revealing the standard logo, but more refined and missing the dot on the "I" of "Elite" for a split second before finally appearing.
- On THX-certified LaserDiscs, it faded to the THX LaserDisc logo at the time.
Technique: A still, digital graphic.
Audio: None, except for Night of the Living Dead, which uses the distorted audio from the first few seconds of the film itself followed by a small explosion sound.
Availability: This is so far seen on releases of Horror Hotel, A Nightmare on Elm Street, and the 1994 Laserdisc of Night of the Living Dead as well as its 1997 DVD release, because it used the same master as the aforementioned LaserDisc.
2nd Logo (April 3, 1996-August 14, 2007)
Visuals: On a black background, there is a marble floor as red lasers make some trails. We go to the marble background now as the glow fades, and the gold word reads "Elite" and underneath the glow yellow word "Entertainment" both used in Mistral script font.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: Laser sounds as the lasers make a word, and an action music with bongo drums.
Availability: Seen on DVDs from this company.
