Background
Epic Records Japan is a Japanese record label owned by Sony Music Japan. It was founded in 1978 by Shigeo Maruyama. Between 1978 and 1988 the label operated as a wholly owned subsidiary: Epic/Sony Inc. was established in August 1978 and was folded back into CBS/Sony Group in March 1988. In 2001, it was re-established as Epic Records Japan Inc.
1st Logo (2010s-)
Logo: Same as the Sony Music tag, however the SonyMusic text is replaced with the Epic oval logo in black/yellow.
Variant: There exists a black background variant, with the black elements of the logo being in gray, and a yellow glow is seen passing through the ovals.
Technique: Computer animation.
Audio: Same as the Sony Music tag.
Availability: Seen on commercials from Epic artists in Japan.
