Background

Formed by chairman Derek Meakin in 1965, Europress' rapid development was accelerated by the computer boom in the early 80's. Its software development, magazine publishing and exhibition companies achieved phenomenal growth with annual turnover well in excess of 15m and employing over 250 people.

1st Logo (1996-1999)

Logo: On a sky background with a white floor, the text "Europress" zooms in letter by letter. It flashes after it forms.

Technique: The logo forming.

Audio: Whooshes with a dramatic synthetized drumbeat.

Availability: Seen on their games.

2nd Logo (1999-2004)

Logo: On a space background, we see the text "Europress" zooming into a planet. The planet and the text spin diagonally for the music's duration, until they fade onto a white background.

Technique: The planet and the text spinning.

Audio: A funky pop tune.

Availability: Seen on their later games.

Legacy: It's pretty much inspired by the Universal logo.
