Logo (1986-Early 2000s)

Visuals: The sequence starts off with color bars. The bars then wipe away to reveal a red couch with a naked girl inside sitting over a room. The process repeats several times and with more shots of a girl as the bars wipe away, who walks and sits over the couch. It gets wiped away with color bars again, then it fades to white and reveal that it was an "X" that was in 3D, and then it turns to lavender over a gray background. Then it cuts again, to a dark blue background. The text "EXCALIBUR FILMS" slides in. The process repeats two times, but it gets smaller. On the third time the text slides, the shadow becomes an outline. Then the text disappears, as the text "PRESENTS" zooms in a V of Doom-like effect on the same background.

Trivia: This is one of the longest adult entertainment logos, which clocks in at two minutes and 33 seconds.

Variants:

  • A near short version exists that starts when the fanfare begins when the color bars appear.
  • In its later years, the logo was given an enhanced look.

Technique: A mix of live-action and 2D computer animation.

Audio: A test tone, followed by a dramatic fanfare with a flute theme in the middle of the logo, which repeats several times.

Availability:

  • Seen on Excalibur Films' porn releases from the era, like DVD releases of Maxine, Who Reamed Rosie Rabbit?, Summer Lovers, Every Woman Has a Fantasy 2 and Dangerous.
  • It also appeared in the 1986 VHS of Brothers Grime X-Rated Cartoons.
  • The enhanced version appears on the DVD of Three Men and a Barbi.
