Background

Family Productions, Inc. was the production unit of The Family Channel, formed in 1990 after the CBN Family Channel was spun-off from the CBN company and then renamed to the aforementioned name by new owners International Family Entertainment. The company generally handled the network's scripted series and TV movies, and operated concurrently with Family Channel Originals (which generally handled the network's game shows and distributed series, though they also used their logos on FPI series/films) and MTM Enterprises (which was purchased by IFE in 1993). Family Productions was dissolved after being renamed to Fox Family in 1998.
