Background
Fantôme (or Fantome Animation) was a French animation studio based in Paris. They were best known for producing the earliest (if not first) CGI cartoon Insektors in 1994. The company was folded into Neurones[1] in late 1999.
Logo (1990-1999)
Visuals: On a black background, a white triangle fades in. Inside of the triangle are two rounded vertical lines. "FANTOME" is below the triangle in white. Suddenly, a red dot flies in and lands on the triangle right beneath the lines. A line fades in beneath "FANTOME", then "ANIMATION" and finally, "PRESENTE", though the latter is set further down.
Variant:
- On VHS tapes of Les Fables géométriques the word "PRESENTE" is missing.
- On Tales from the Cryptkeeper, an outline is present outside of the triangle, the lines inside are bigger, along with the "FANTOME" text. The entire logo is still as well.
Technique: The dot flying in or a still, digital graphic.
Audio: A whistling noise, followed by a pop. Otherwise, the closing theme of the show.
Availability: The full version was seen at the start of Insektors and videotapes of Les Fables géométriques. The variant appeared on the third season of Tales from the Cryptkeeper (dubbed New Tales from the Cryptkeeper.)
