Background

Fantôme (or Fantome Animation) was a French animation studio based in Paris. They were best known for producing the earliest (if not first) CGI cartoon Insektors in 1994. The company was folded into Neurones[1] in late 1999.

Logo (1990-December 30, 1995)

Visuals: On a black background, a white triangle fades in. Inside of the triangle, there are two rounded vertical lines. "FANTOME" is underneath in white. Suddenly, a red dot flies in and lands on the triangle right beneath the lines. A line fades in beneath "FANTOME", then "ANIMATION" and finally, "PRESENTE", though the latter is set further down.

Variant: On VHS tapes of Les Fables géométriques the word "PRESENTE" is missing.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: A whistling noise, followed by a pop.

Availability: Seen at the start of Insektors and videotapes of Les Fables géométriques.
