Background

Finestripe Productions is a Glasgow-based television production company that produces factual programmes.

Logo (8 August 2006-)

Visuals: "FINESTRIPE PRODUCTIONS" in a stacked and right-aligned format is inside a white horizontal rectangular box to the right of a hot pink, long bar. Four vertical bars slide down near the right end of the bar. In order of appearance, these include a white thin line (the left most of the four), an orange bar next to the white one, a tan bar closest to the box's end, and a white bar to the second-most right, which is the thickest of them all.

Variants:

  • Sometimes, the logo is still.
  • The size of the bar may vary.
  • The logo has an alternate animation. Here, the text slides from the left to the right of the box while multiple vertical bars form the hot pink box, complete with the four bars on its right. Plus, the logo is also squished.
  • On Bank of Dave, the logo has a thick black shadow facing the bottom right.
  • Sometimes, this logo also shares the screen with the other logos including the 1997 BBC and 2013 ITV logos.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: The ending theme of the programme or none.

Availability:

  • Seen on many documentaries since the late 2000's, which include The Day Hitler Died, Million Dollar American Princesses, and Bank of Dave, among several others.
  • A lot of them can be viewed on-demand such as BBC iPlayer or YLE Areena.
  • The alternate variant is preserved on Art Deco Icons.
  • This logo can also be found at the end of a SBS On Demand streaming print of Boris Becker: The Rise and Fall.
