Background
Fishtank Interactive was a subsidiary of Ravensburger Interactive Media GmbH, a video game subsidiary of the puzzle company Ravensburger. It was founded in 2000 to publish more mature titles than the mostly educational game library of its parent company, without sullying its reputation. Its titles were criticized for low production values highlighted by the lack of important features like multi-player playability. Fishtank was sold alongside Ravensburger Interactive to JoWooD Productions in 2002.
Logo (April 16, 2001-January 5, 2003)
Visuals: On a black background, there is a jagged window with a lake bottom inside. A fish swims near and rams his face into the screen. He says "Ouch!" and turns while he also says "Whoa!". The scene then morphs into a white picture with a different fish and some bubbles. The text "fishtank inteRactive"
in an ugly font ripples in under the logo.
Variant: An alternate version has a clearer lake bottom and a different-looking fish bearing a goofy expression, who simply knocks into the screen and laughs afterwards. The logo then buzzes in from the scene.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: Just the sounds of the fish and bubbles.
Availability: Seen on games like Evil Islands and S.W.I.N.E.
