Background
This is a production company owned by Kevin Murphy who was responsible for the short-lived cheerleader comedy/drama Hellcats and one of Syfy's prime programs Defiance.
(September 8, 2010-June 29, 2019)
Logo: We see a sunset under a cloudless, clear sky in the background which we see a silhouette of a metallic sign and a hotel due to the shading and lighting during the time of day. The upper portion of the sign has the 5 cent sign, a dash, and a 10 cent sign all horizontally and the lower portion would have a conjoined arrow shaped sign that would feature the production company's name "Five & Dime Productions" all in neon lighting and in periwinkle both the upper and lower lettering of the sign.
Variant: On The Son, the logo is open matte with two buildings.
Technique: The lights and circuitry of the bottom portion of the metallic sign going trying to go out until the very end when the lights stay on as it's supposed to represent that of an old hotel or diner which would use these vintage signs out in the back roads or middle of nowhere.
Music/Sounds: A upbeat six-note jazz tune or the ending theme of the show.
Availability: First appeared on Hellcats. Can also be seen on the first two seasons of Defiance and The Son.
