Background
Format Films was founded in 1959 by Herbert Kynn with Jules Engel as a vice president, Bob McIntosh and Joseph Mugnaini. The studio produced the opening of the first season of The Twilight Zone, The Alvin Show, the infamous Wile E Coyote and Road Runner cartoons by Rudy Larriva, The Long Ranger, among others. They closed in 1962, but reopened in 1965 as Format Productions.
