* Its earliest-known appearance was on TV spots for ''Running Scared'' (1986), but it is currently unknown if theatrical prints used this logo, as the original U.S. VHS had the 9th logo and the UK VHS had no logo at the front of the film, while 1990s VHS reissues feature the bylineless gold-ribboned logo (in letterbox), as did a 1994 broadcast on BBC1 (cropped to 4:3).

Is it possible that the 1957 logo was on theatrical prints of ''Running Scared''? Yes.

Is it also possible that the 1986 logo was on theatrical prints of ''Running Scared'' but the older VHS plastered it with the 1957 logo? Yes. Plastering a newer logo with an older logo is unusual but not out of the ordinary; 20th Century Fox did it all the time in the '80s. Theatrical prints of some movies used the 1981 logo but the VHS releases used the 1953 logo instead for some reason.

It could be that domestic prints had the 1957 logo but foreign prints updated it. This is also not out of the ordinary; the original British release prints of ''The Living Daylights'' had a "temporary" United Artists logo with a blue "UA" zooming towards the audience. The rest of the world had the fully animated CGI United Artists logo. Same company released both movies.

In between the releases of ''RS'' and ''Solarbabies'' was ''Where the River Runs Black''; that originally opened with the 1957 logo but the VHS release plastered it with the 1986 logo. So this might suggest that ''Running Scared'' had the 1957 logo as well, even though the 1986 logo was featured in the TV spots.

I think that we should just say the logo began in "1986" instead of "November 26, 1986" until we get more information. If a 35mm copy of ''Running Scared'' shows up on eBay with screengrabs, we'll see which version of the logo appears.

I'm only going to add what I inserted into the page not too long ago:

  • Its earliest-known appearance was on TV spots for Running Scared (1986), but it is currently unknown if theatrical prints used this logo, as the original U.S. VHS had the 9th logo and the UK VHS had no logo at the front of the film, while 1990s VHS reissues feature the bylineless gold-ribboned logo (in letterbox), as did a 1994 broadcast on BBC1 (cropped to 4:3).

Is it possible that the 1957 logo was on theatrical prints of Running Scared? Yes.

Is it also possible that the 1986 logo was on theatrical prints of Running Scared but the older VHS plastered it with the 1957 logo?

This is also not out of the ordinary; the original British release prints of The Living Daylights had a "temporary" United Artists logo with a blue "UA" zooming towards the audience. The rest of the world had the fully animated CGI United Artists logo. Same company released both movies.

In between the releases of RS and Solarbabies was Where the River Runs Black; that originally opened with the 1957 logo but the VHS release plastered it with the 1986 logo. So this might suggest that Running Scared had the 1957 logo as well, even though the 1986 logo was featured in the TV spots.

I think that we should just say the logo began in "1986" instead of "November 26, 1986" until we get more information. If a 35mm copy of Running Scared shows up on eBay with screengrabs, we'll see which version of the logo appears.

I'm just confused about MGM. One is an American media company, founded in 1924, that produces and distributes feature films and television programs while the other is into resorts and other services. 1986 MGM logo in a post is really looking astonishing but I don't get which one it is from the two's. I just sail over different forums and research about both and I got information about them. Meanwhile, I came to many mlifeinsider login portals issues so decided to help an employee at MGM resorts.
