So, in a flash of personal nostalgia, I added the London Weekend {Television) 1970-1978 logo's preservation on the The Best Of Upstairs Downstairs VHS tapes from Thorn EMI Video (unfortunately, later VHS and DVD releases of the show by A&E Home Video cut the opening logo which is a DISGRACE), which I sadly can't find release dates for. But then I got to looking the tapes up on eBay and got reminded of something not noticed, as far as I've seen, in logo discussion, not even specifically UK ones. On the back cover of these tapes was a print logo of the "W" from the LWT logo over a "V" in the same style, implying LWT having their own home video division called "Weekend Video". You can see it on the back of the VHS boxes such as here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/185477739789 . However, the only VHS distribution logo on the tape itself is Thorn EMI, and I have never even heard any inkling of "Weekend Video" in anything I've read or seen about LWT. So I don't know if this was just branding or if LWT really was going to get into the home video market themselves but it fell through and that print logo is all that's left. It's a mystery that caught my attention 20 years ago but I forgot about it... no time like the present though.
