V of Doom. Too boring to be scary nowadays.

And that includes the Viacom name since it's dead.

More and more people are answering so i guess imma show mine (Not including Screen Gems, Viacom, and others!):

  • O.E.C.A.: The animation is decent for the 70's and i love the trippy music!
  • Video Collection International: This is just one of my absolute favorite logos!
  • D.I.C: "A sleeping scene is always scary" ☝️🤓 (Real comment)
  • K.P.B.S.: Check O.E.C.A and V.C.I.
  • Royal Nepal Film Corporation: The poor quality ruins it!

A couple of ones in my opinion:

  • Dan Curtis Productions: Mainly since this isn't a scary logo, it's just text superimposed over the film's ending. Sure, the entry was already removed from AVID, but the evil will never truly be stopped.
  • Apple Films: I never found this one scary, it's just some typical space stuff. I also find its animation charming, though I'm probably not the best person to ask here.
  • Caballero Home Video (2nd logo): What adult is going to find this nightmare-inducing? Then again, I have an aversion to the kind of stuff this logo appeared before, so I'd personally find this the most pleasant thing.
  • Emperor Multimedia Group (New Blood): Maybe the funniest failed attempt at a jump scare I've seen, and this is including fake anti-piracy screens.
  • GT Interactive Software (Blood): The other funniest attempt at a jump scare in a logo. It is effectively creepy at first, but then the explosion turns it into comedy gold. That said, the Blood 2 version is not funny due to the explosion being gruesome there, but even then, I've seen at least two scary logo lists call the Blood version the scarier of the two.
  • Any logo that uses the "stock lyra strum." The overuse stops it from being creepy in the slightest anymore.

Here's my list (it's still expanding!)

  • Caution Video: More weird and confusing than scary.
  • KWSU: The first time I saw it I was more confused than scared. Mainly because I didn't know what the text was supposed to say.
  • MTC Video (1st logo): I just found this one so mesmerizing to watch.
  • Shera Films (4th logo): I admit, I was a little freaked out at first when I first saw this logo. But after seeing it more and more I quickly realized that the animation of the lion zooming into the screen comes across as being more cheap than scary.
  • SuperVideo: The chyron and animation just makes me feel... hypnotized...
  • Toppic Video (screaming version): The screaming combined with the disco music just makes it more funny than scary to me.
  • Ulster Television (1st logo): I like the music, it's comforting (and admittedly cute) to me. I also like the animation of how the dots connect.

My turn!

  • Klasky Csupo (1998) - If you grew up watching Rugrats and All Grown Up!, you'll no doubt have seen this logo at the end. For many viewers, the so-called "Super Scary Face" was a source of nightmares for them. I'm not one of those viewers. For me, it was just another animation studio mascot like the Pixar lamp and Paul from the DNA Productions logo. Hardly nightmare fuel in my book.
  • Screen Gems Television (1965) - I'm sure this logo had a bad reputation in the 60's for scaring the daylights out of those watching I Dream of Jeannie and Bewitched, but those days are long gone, and those people has undoubtedly gotten over it. As for me, let's just say I can't relate to those who were scared by this so-called "S from Hell". It's more of an "S from Nostalgialand" if anything.
  • Viacom Productions (1976) - Not really sure HOW this ended up being classified as a "scary" logo in the first place, especially since it's been plastered up the wazoo in the years since their purchase of Paramount. Whatever the reason, I don't think high-speed zooming and a high-pitched synth fanfare are enough to do this logo justice as a source of nightmares.
  • WGBH Productions (1977) - An iconic logo for those who grew up with Arthur and Between the Lions. The animation and music are really cool.
  • PBS Kids (1993) - Hard to believe people were scared of this. It was definitely made with children in mind, and the fact that people think this doesn't fit with some shows like Barney and Teletubbies and whatnot bewilders me. This goes for the "Surprise!" variant as well.
  • Simitar Entertainment (1986) - I love the animation and music in this one. It's powerful, it's assertive, it's eye-catching. Nothing scary here.
  • Zespół Realizatorów Filmowych Rytm (1960) - There's a good chance quite a few people were taken by surprise when they heard the three big WHOOSHes. Personally, I thought they were a nice touch to this relatively obscure logo.
  • Dan Curtis Productions - I mean, it's an in-credit logo, sooo...
  • View Askew Productions (1994) - For me, this is more gross than scary, but that's just Kevin Smith's quirky style. And to those who think all clowns are scary, weeeell...
  • Bryanston Pictures (1972) - I think this is a sweet, space-age style logo. I can't blame people for being frightened by it, but I'd be lying if I said I don't like the alien-sounding music and cheesy Scanimate visuals. The company's controversial history was also fun to read about, especially since it made The Weinstein Company's hands look clean by comparison. LOL.
  • Rolling Thunder (1995) - I think the jumpscare took me by surprise the first time I saw this, but after that, I grew to like this logo, considering how well it suits Quentin Tarantino's shtick.
  • Team Happy Rainbow Panda Bears - Believe it or not, I was actually DISAPPOINTED by this "very infamous logo". When I first saw the name on a list of "scary logos", I expected something FAR worse than just a pixellated panda ripped to shreds. Looks like something out of a cheap Helluva Boss ripoff.
