Widgets have been completely discontinued due to security risks.

"After discussing this amongst all system administrators, we have decided that the Widgets extension will be made unavailable indefinitely, due to the security risks that it involves. As possible alternatives, please try extensions: TimedMediaHandler, YouTube, or Video. For a possible JavaScript alternative, see https://dev.miraheze.org/wiki/Replacement_for_Widgets_extension. Apologies for any inconvenience."

The widgets stopped working for some reason. When I go to the extensions page it's disabled and only users with the managewiki rights can enable it, I assume bureaucrats?

Widgets were disabled temporarily by Miraheze per this security disclosure. Lets leave it for now and see if they put it back.

I've tried to transition as much of the markup as possible using ReplaceText, but the last brackets (}}) need to be done manually because if I attempt that via text replace, it will affect every transclusion of every template on the entire site, which would be an absolute disaster. Also, I screwed up one of the text replace's slightly with a stray </youtube> in the wrong place. About to do one more ReplaceText to fix that. Beyond that, the end of the markup will need to be appended manually unfortunately. Just replace the end brackets of the old template markup with <nowiki>"</youtube>.

EDIT: Having some technical issues. Will do the last replacetext in a few days when I get beck from visiting family
