Background
FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment was the children's division of FremantleMedia formed in 2009. The division had a portfolio of more than 45 brands consisting of over 150 series and 800 hours of programming, consisting of archived content from the Thames Television catalogue and newer properties like Tree-Fu Tom, Biz and Bob and the reboot of Danger Mouse, produced in co-production with the BBC.
On January 25, 2018, FremantleMedia announced its exit from the children's television industry and effectively sold FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment to the Canadian-based entertainment company Boat Rocker Media, which was folded under their umbrella.
Logo (October 28, 2013-June 12, 2018)
Visuals: On a white background, an explosion occurs, making red dots that spin and form a stylized red atom from the FremantleMedia logo, while KIDS in a big, white, childish font appears one by one, and the yellow text "& FAMILY" appears in yellow. The logo zooms out as "FREMANTLEMEDIA", also from the FremantleMedia logo, slides from the atom in black.
Variants:
- A short version exists on the 2015 revival of Danger Mouse, and a very short version appears on season 2 of Kate & Mim-Mim (with the final half of the sounder).
- In-credit versions exist, with and without a white background.
- An alternate and unused version exists where it begins with several dots moving to pop, and then the "FREMANTLEMEDIA" text is absent at the end.
Technique: CGI animation and compositing by Daniel Balzer at DixonBaxi.
Audio: A dance-pop theme with drum beats, followed by a vibey drum solo.
Audio Variants:
- Sometimes, it's high-pitched and abridged.
- The alternate version uses a different version of the theme.
Availability:
- The still in-credit version appears on later seasons of Tree-Fu Tom, the first two seasons of the Danger Mouse reboot, and Series 1 of Bitz and Bob (which is shown after You Can Do It, Too!).
- The animated variant appears mainly outside the United Kingdom and on streaming prints of the respective shows mentioned above.
- It appears as a de-facto home entertainment logo on Fremantle Home Entertainment DVD releases in the UK up until 2016 (when Universal took over).
