Background

Full Moon Entertainment was a movie production company founded by Charles Band after he sold his previous company, Empire International, to Epic Productions. Towards the end of 2002, Band changed the company's name to Shadow Entertainment, justifying the move that Full Moon movies at the time no longer had the same feeling from prior. However, it returned in 2005 as Full Moon Features. Full Moon movies were distributed onto video by Paramount Pictures until 1994.

1st Logo (September 1990-February 16, 1994)

Visuals: On a black background, a picture of the moon, slightly tinted in sky blue, slowly rises up from the bottom left corner and fixates itself onto the center. Then, black clouds fade in over it, and the moon fades to a plain blue circle. The words "FULL MOON" with "ENTERTAINMENT" spaced out below in yellow with a white line in between, fade in below.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: A choir, which is accompanied by a trumpet, then a "whoosh" with wind chimes heralding the company name. The theme is composed by Richard Band. Sometimes, the movie's opening theme is heard.

Audio Trivia: A full-length version of this logo's music can be found on the soundtrack for The Arrival (1991).

Availability:

• It debuted on Crash and Burn and also appears on Puppet Master II-III, Trancers II-III, Crash and Burn, Bad Channels, Arcade (original CGI Version only), Seedpeople, Demonic Toys, Netherworld, Doctor Mordrid, The Pit and the Pendulum, Robot Wars (screener VHS only), Subspecies, the screener VHS of Bloodstone: Subspecies II, and Dollman, among others.
• Though Puppet Master 4, Dollman vs. Demonic Toys, and Bloodlust: Subspecies III, among possible others use the next logo, this logo can be seen on their respective trailers.
• It also makes appearances on screener VHS releases of Mandroid, Puppet Master 4, and Bloodlust: Subspecies III, though other copies use the next logo.

2nd Logo (August 18, 1993-October 22, 2002)

Visuals: Essentially a remake of the first logo. On a night sky (black with a blue haze on the bottom), the silhouette of mountains can be seen at the bottom of the screen. The moon, now using a different photo and given a white haze, rises up from behind the landscape as the clouds from last time drift to cover the moon. The screen then fades to a black background with the Full Moon logo, already formed and surrounded by a red or white box ("ENTERTAINMENT" (1993-1995) or "PICTURES" (1995-2002) is in its own section of the box).

Variant: During the late 1990s, there was a variant in which "RELEASING" replaces "PICTURES" or "ENTERTAINMENT", and the logo is still. The very last half of the music from the 1st logo (the wind chime sounds) play here.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: Same as before.

Availability:

• Can be seen on Oblivion 1-2, Mandroid (its debut), Invisible, Puppet Master 4-5 (except on the screener VHS releases), Shrunken Heads, Trancers 4-5, Bloodlust: Subspecies III, Arcade, Lurking Fear, Dark Angel: The Ascent, among other movies.
• After Full Moon split from Paramount, some films, such as Curse of the Puppet Master, The Dead Hate the Living, Subspecies 4: Bloodstorm, and others used the "Pictures" byline.
• It makes an appearance on the 2011 DVD release of the Torchlight film, Virgin Hunters (AKA: Test Tube Teens from the Year 2000), before the Torchlight Entertainment logo.
• It also appears on the trailers for Puppet Master: The Legacy and Dr. Moreau's House of Pain, even though the films themselves don't use any logos.

Full Moon Features

Logo (October 11, 2005-)

Visuals: Fading from black, the camera pans up from a dark-tinted lake, passing by clouds as the moon, which is more stylized than the previous 2 logos and is colored a shiny dark blue, pans down into view. As the camera pans up through the last of the clouds, the familiar cloud shapes fade in on the moon and drift inwards, as a swarm of bats start to fly towards the screen. As this happens, the words "FULL MOON" in the same font as before, appear as a silhouette while the moon fades to a plain blue circle, which now has an embossed look and a small glow, and the text fades fully into view. "FEATURES" with a white line above it, then fades under it, along with a white rectangular outline around the logo, as everything settles into place. The logo slowly zooms in until the logo fades to black.

Variants:

• There's a short version used for trailers and on Doll Graveyard, where the animation is sped-up and the bats are absent.
• The logo has been updated with high definition CGI in 2013, enhancing the look of the logo.
• On German Blu-Rays from WickedVision, "GERMANY" replaces "FEATURES".

Technique: CGI.

Audio: The sounds of the ocean shore, followed by the sounds of the bat colony, then an eerie tune.

Audio Variant: On the Blu-Ray of Trancers, it uses the theme from the 1st logo, preceded by some whooshes and bat sounds.

Availability:

• Can be found on the company's newer films, like Doll Graveyard (its debut), The Gingerdead Man, Petrified, Evil Bong, Dead Man's Hand, just to name a few, as well as at the end of Charlie Band's vidcasts.
• This may plaster the previous two logos on newer prints of older Full Moon films, and plasters the Moonbeam Entertainment logo on the Blu-Ray and Tubi prints of Prehysteria! and Pet Shop. It also plasters the Torchlight Entertainment logo on the Blu-Ray of Beach Babes from Beyond.
