Background: Future Vision Multimedia, Inc. was a New York based publishing and development company owned by Future Vision Holding Inc. In August 1995, all of Future Vision's divisions and assets were acquired by SoftKey International Inc. This NY branch was merged into SoftKey's facilities in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

(1994-1996)

Nicknames: The Compact Disc Man, The CD Comet

Logo: In the beginning of the logo, a man made of compact discs stands in the middle of a giant compact disc that's on a purple surface. The sky is a pale dark blue. The disc man stops from his pose and, after getting himself good and ready to throw something by spinning a couple times, and throws a disc he was holding. The CD is thrown and flies behind the man and even off the "planet" the man was on. Once its out of frame, the "planet" turns black with a purple light shining from the northwest part of it. Below are the words "FUTURE VISION" and below it in a smaller font "MULTIMEDIA". The disc comes back and fades to a white streak of light that completes the logo.

FX/SFX: Very nice CGI animation for its time.

Music/Sounds: A futuristic new-age tune.

Availability: Rare. Probably on old software from Softkey. Please look in your local thrift store.
