Background

Futurikon is a French independent company founded in 1996 by Phillippe Delarue. The company is known for The Ugly Duckling and Me, Dragon Hunters, and Minuscule: The Private Life of Insects.

1st Logo (September 5, 1999- )

Logo: We see a gold swirl-like object. Behind the object are two rectangles with "FUTUR" and "IKON" respectively.

Technique: None.

Music/Sounds: None or the closing theme.

Availabililty: Common. It can be seen at the end of Fly Tales, Monster Allergy, Kaput & Zosky, Gloria, Wilma & Me, Minuscule, Iron Nose, The Minimighty Kids and Chronokids among others. This logo is usually used as an in-credit logo for most of Futurikon's projects.

2nd Logo (March 20, 2008- )

Logo: On a white background, we see a black dot fall onto the floor. Then the dot starts drawing a gold swirl-like object. After the object draws, the dot begins to bounce in, forming the words "FUTUR" in white on a black square and "IKON" in black with a black outline, creating a box-like rectangle. Finally, the dot lands to the letter "I".

Variants:

  • A short version exists, where it begins when the dot bounces.
  • There is another version where the words "Films" is shown below. It was first seen on the original French release of the 2008 film Dragon Hunters, which used the animated variant.
  • A letterboxed version exists, this was used on some films from the company such as Minuscule: Valley of the Lost Ants.

Technique: The dot and the logo forming.

Music/Sounds: A dropping sound when the dot drops, followed by a 12-note piano tune when the words appears.

Availability: Common. Seen on most of the recent Futurikon productions. This also appears on some of these films by the company.
