Background

Giggling Goose Productions was founded in 1988 by television writer/producer Gary Gilbert. The company focused on producing pilots, the best known of which was The Seinfeld Chronicles, which was picked up as Seinfeld.

Logo (July 21, 1988-December 17, 1989)

Visuals: On a blue-black gradient background, there are the silver words:

GIGGLING
GOOSE

PRODUCTIONS, INC.

Then, a light-brown goose flies across the text, laughing very weirdly.

Variant: On Homeroom, after the standard animation of the logo plays, the words "in association with" appear (on the same background as the logo) followed by the Castle Rock Television logo.

Technique: The goose uses cel animation; the remainder is in CGI.

Audio: The sound of the goose laughing (hence the logo's title). On later prints of The Seinfeld Chronicles, the end theme plays followed by the same sound.

Availability: Seen on The Seinfeld Chronicles (the Seinfeld pilot) on the DVD and some syndication airings. It is also seen on the pilot of Heart and Soul (a 1988 TV series that has long been gone outside of tape-trading), the 1989 sitcom Homeroom (the only weekly show the company made) and the 1988 pilot Home Again (the only work from the company owned by Warner Bros. Television).
