Background

Glorysun is a publisher (and possible developer) of unlicensed games for the Sega Mega Drive. They are most known for their various bootleg hacks.

1st Logo (1996-2005)

Visuals: Over a white background is a red sphere with a crescent surrounding it at the right, forming an eye symbol. Below is "GLORYSUN" in English and Chinese scripts.

Variants:

  • On the Final Fantasy bootleg, the text is removed.
  • On the Metal Gear Solid bootleg, the small logo is seen over a black background.

Technique: A still, sprite-based graphic.

Audio: None or the opening theme of the game.

Availability: Appears on most, if not all of their bootleg hacks for the Sega Genesis.

2nd Logo (unknown timespan) (Wario Land 3 variant)

Visuals: Over a starfield, the blue text "GLORYSUN" is seen hanging out chained from an aeroplane, originally where the Sega logomark is in the original game (the licensed info is also removed). The aeroplane flies away and the title sequence continues.

Technique: Sprite-based animation.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on the Wario Land 3 bootleg hack of Puggsy.
