Background

Gold Label was a distributor company from Hong Kong. It was founded by Paco Wong and Norman Cheng in 2003 as the Hong Kong branch of EMI, and later developed into a diversified media group in greater China, with business in artiste management, records, concerts and movies. It merged with EMI's China and Taiwan branches to form Gold Typhoon in 2008.

Logo (January 23, 2003-August 17, 2006)

Visuals: The screen flashes from white and the camera pans through the trailed words "GOLD LABEL" on a purple aurora background. As the camera pans to the side, the gold lines start to draw itself and form two rectangles with a thin rectangle between it while the words "GOLD LABEL" flips in inside the rectangle. As the camera zooms into the finished logo, the logo flashes, a white glow appears behind the rectangle and the trailed words disappear. The words shine before the camera stops zooming in.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: An electronic hit that increases its pitch overtime with a new-age synth tune playing in the background.

Availability: Seen on their films at the time, such as My Lucky Star and Marriage with a Fool.

Logo (August 17, 2006-January 19, 2009)

Visuals: We fade in to see the clouds on a starfield. The camera then pans to the right, and we can see the words "GOLD LABEL" as the rectangle draws itself, forming the same logo from before. The logo then turns golden and golden particles fly in to from the word "PICTURES" below. The starfield fades out as the word "PICTURES" is done forming.

Variant: On some films, the fade in effect at the beginning was omitted.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A harmonious orchestral theme.

Availability: Seen on their films at the time, such as Legendary Assassin.
