Background: Golden Dragon Cambodian Video was a company located in Long Beach, California that produced some Cambodian songs.
(1990s)
Golden Dragon Combodian Video
Nicknames: "GDC Shield (of Doom)", "The Other Cheesy Shield", "But There Are No Dragons!", "Warner Bros and Viacom Now Have A Kid", "Warcom", "The Star Wars Thief"
Logo: On a light grey background, we see a red bordered shield (ala Warner Bros.) zoom out with the letters "GDC" inside, witch stands for Golden Dragon Cambodian. The Khmer blue text, placed like an arc, fades in above the shield, along with the blue text "GOLDEN DRAGON CAMBODIAN VIDEO" sandwiched by two lines, below. The shield stops zooming out, but later the shield starts zooming in (like the V of Doom), and the blue text fades out, leaving the shield to be zooming in until the logo fades out before the shield takes over the entire screen.
FX/SFX: The shield zooming in and out, and the text fading in and out, ultra cheap animation.
Music/Sounds: A portion of the TIE Fighter music from Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, where Han's just about to blow the last TIE up.
Availability: Unknown, possibly rare, although it has been spotted on collections of music videos of Cambodian pop artists of the day made by the company. One of the videos can be found here.
Editor's Note: None.
