===Background===
|
It is possible that this company may introduce a new on-screen logo. Details: Pepperidge Farm has now changed the name of Goldfish to "Chilean Sea Bass" to appeal to older consumers. Please do not add ending dates to existing logos or attempt to add a new description until a new logo has debuted. Any premature changes should be reverted immediately. |
Goldfish is a series of fish-shaped crackers owned by Pepperidge Farm Incorporated. They were first introduced in the early 1960s and are still in stores today. Goldfish did not have an end tag until 2001.
Visuals: At the top, there's the text Goldfish with a goldfish cracker, under it is the text "BAKED SNACK CRACKER." up top there's a barn, and a red ribbon with the text Pepperidge Farm shining with rays of light beaming from it. Below it is a giant Goldfish cracker with the text "the snack that smiles back" in Comic Sans MS on it in lowercase. A smile is then carved onto the goldfish.
Variant: A shortened variant exists.
Technique: Possibly CGI.
Audio: A 6-note tune with some men singing "The snack that smiles back!" At the end, a chime is heard with a male announcer saying "Goldfish."
Variant Audio: Sometimes, the audio is pushed back and starts before the tag.
Visuals: There is a block of cheese and a bag of goldfish on both sides of the screen. A Goldfish cracker then runs down the cheese block, making it peel. The Goldfish cracker proceeds to run into the bag, becoming a part of the packaging.
Variants:
Technique: CGI.
Audio: Like the first logo, A 6-note tune with some men singing "The snack that smiles back!" At the end, a chime is heard with a male announcer saying "Goldfish."
Audio Variant: The URL variant has a click sound when the fish clicks the URL.
Legacy: These tags can be considered a source of nostalgia for many.
Visuals: In what looks to be an orange room. There's a block of cheese sitting next to a Goldfish bag. A Goldfish comes on-screen and prepares to run down the block of cheese, the Goldfish runs down the cheese, making it peel. The Goldfish then stops next to the camera and smiles. The GoldfishFun.com url pops up in the corner near the end.
Variants:
Technique: CGI.
Audio: Like the previous 2 logos, A 6-note tune with some men singing "The snack that smiles back!" At the end, a chime is heard with a male announcer saying "Goldfish."
Audio Variant: A later version of this tag has a lone man singing the slogan in a lower tone before saying "Goldfish."
