3rd Logo (1982-1999)

Logo: Like before, it is a still version of the 1982 ident but with a copyright stamp added underneath.

Variants:

  • In the late 1980s, when the 1982 ident was updated with more shading, so did this logo.
  • Sometimes, the company name would be replaced with text reading "A GRAMPIAN PRODUCTION FOR" and the 1989 ITV logo below.
  • A superimposed variant exists.
  • Another variant had the words "A GRAMPIAN PRODUCTION FOR CHANNEL FOUR".
  • On A Guid New Year, the logo appears alongside the 1989 Scottish Television logo with the words "A GRAMPIAN TELEVISION/SCOTTISH TELEVISION PRODUCTION FOR", with the 1989 ITV logo underneath with a copyright notice below.
  • On Breakthrough, the Scottish flag symbol is within a box and paired with the TSW logo while against a white-cyan background containing the text "A Grampian/TSW Co-Production".
  • On Highlanders, the logo is on the same row as the Malone Gill Productions logo.
  • An extremely rare co-production variant exists where the logo is paired with six other ITV franchise logos on a blue background. Grampian's logo appears on the centre left.
  • On James the Cat, the copyright notice reading "THE JAMES THE CAT COMPANY (C) COPYRIGHT 1984" appears underneath the logo.

Technique: None.

Music/Sounds: The ending theme of the programme.

Availability: Very rare.

  • Like before, it appeared on many programmes that are hard to find outside of original TV airings such as Highlanders, Geography Junction, A Guid New Year, among others.
  • It also appears at the end of James the Cat as well.

4th Logo (1996-February 27, 2000)

Logo: Once again, it is a still version of its respective previous logo, but with the logo now in 3D facing the right a bit and a copyright stamp added underneath.

Variants:

  • On programmes produced for Channel 4, the text reads "A GRAMPIAN TELEVISION PRODUCTION FOR CHANNEL FOUR", sometimes with a copyright notice appearing below reading "(C) CHANNEL FOUR CORPORATION (year)".
  • On Vote '99 Scotland Debate, this logo is paired with the 1996 Scottish Television logo with the words "A SCOTTISH TELEVISION GRAMPIAN TELEVISION CO-PRODUCTION" appearing below.
